About this course

With Okta Workflows, you can modernize sophisticated identity-centric lifecycle management processes without code.

In this course, you will tackle common use cases associated with Okta Workflows and learn how events, actions, and functions perform together in the Workflows console. This includes how to:

  • Automate identity tasks that extend beyond account creation and deletion, such as taking granular actions during onboarding and offboarding.
  • Trigger tasks at specific times, based on context, for example, granting conditional access or pausing certain processes.
  • Extract, combine, and format relevant data from APIs to perform actions not available “out of the box.”
  • Troubleshoot and monitor flows and establish some best practices when working in the Workflows console.

By attending this course, you will gain the skills to:

  • Define the benefits offered by Okta Workflows.
  • Learn the key elements involved in a flow.
  • Understand the role of inputs and outputs and how they are mapped between different steps in your flows.
  • Set up a Connection.
  • Identify the event types within a flow.
  • Use Date & Time, Branching, List, and Object functions within flows.
  • Create a helper flow.
  • Create and edit a table.
  • Write an object in JSON format.
  • Add and configure a template.
  • Recognize how Custom API Action cards work within a flow.
  • Identify common types of errors that cause flows to fail.
  • Monitor flows and handle flowpacks efficiently.

To be successful in this course, you should have:

  • A basic understanding of JSON and REST APIs.
